Prize Wheel Badges are Here!

Prize Wheel Munzees have always given a bit extra, including ZeeCred more recently, but now, they’ve got another prize for you!

We’re happy to announce a new line of badges for capturing Prize Wheel Munzees!

These badges show off some of the prizes you might get playing carnival games, but like the Jewel Collector badges, you’ll only be able to unlock one at a time. The first badge in the line is “Balloon Darts Beach Ball” badge for capturing 1 Prize Wheel Munzee.

Balloon Darts Beach Ball- Capture 1 Prize Wheel Munzee.

After earning the first badge in the set, the requirements for the next will appear. These badges will start awarding tomorrow, March 9th, at 00:01 MHQ time and WILL be retroactive.

We hope you enjoy these new badges!

Good luck, and Munzee on!

Introducing the Bellhop Nomad!

While you’ve all been busy capturing the treacherous Jewel Thief on precious stones all month, a new stealthy fella is roaming the halls of Hotels and Motels worldwide. He claims he’s just here to help you with your bags though, so be sure to leave a tip for the new Bellhop Nomad Munzee!

10 Bellhop Nomads are now bouncing on Motel and Hotel Munzees every 12 hours or until captured. Note that the Bellhop only bounces to physical Destination Munzees though, so it will not fall on Virtual Resort Munzees.

These nomads will count toward the new Nomad Badges that were recently released as well.

Points:
Capture – 100
CapOn (for host) – 20

Since capping a Motel/Hotel usually means multiple caps and also a deploy if there are rooms left, we figured we’d go ahead and answer a few questions that might pop up:

1) What happens if I cap a Bellhop Nomad on an already capped Motel/Hotel?
You will get the points for the Bellhop Nomad, but you won’t get caps for the rooms again.

2) What happens if I cap a Bellhop Nomad on a not yet capped Motel/Hotel?
You’ll cap the Motel/Hotel as a nomad and additionally cap the rooms like you would have normally.

3) What if there are rooms available?
You’ll deploy a room like normal, as long as you do not already have a room since this would be case 1.

ScatterED Munzee Badge Line

With the release of the Scatter Munzee Badges a few weeks ago, of course the SCATTERED weren’t too far behind! This new line of badges is for capturing the ever exploding munzees that are sent out after initially capturing a Scatter Munzee.

Similar to the mad Scatter badges, the Scattered badges depict just how overwhelming it can be when more than a few get loose.

Please note that these badges are only for the official Scattered Munzees, so Fire, Ice and other specials that include munzees that scatter will not count. These badges are retroactive though, so all the hard work you’ve put into capping Scattered Munzees has paid off!

Announcing Jewel Collector Badges!

Collecting jewel munzees has become a staple of the game, but what are you to do with all of those precious stones you’ve captured?

We’re happy to announce that a new line of badges have been released for capturing certain jewel munzees. These badges track captures on non-blastable jewels: Topaz, Aqua, Diamond, Ruby, Pink Diamond and Amethyst.

Null Image for Jewel Collector Badges.

The design of these badges feature a few ideas of where you might safely keep some of those jewels, but you’ll only be able to unlock one at a time. To start things off, you can earn the “Hidden Hole” badge by capturing 200 non-blastable jewel munzees. It may not seem like much of a security system, but you’ve got to start somewhere, right?

Hidden Hole- Capture 200 non-blastable Jewel Munzees.

Once you earn the first in the set you’ll unlock the requirements for the next badge. These may not be the easiest badges to earn, but you’ve really got to work for the added security. For those that are able to achieve maximum security, keep your eyes out for a secret Level 4 badge that won’t show up until you earn it.

Happy hunting for jewels and as always, Munzee on!

Scatter Munzee Badge Line

Scatter Munzees can send you every which way to cap their offshoots. Munzee player “Snarf” suggested an awesome new badge line to show just how dedicated our players are to capping Scatter Munzees. We were happy to take their idea and run with it!

With that, we’re proud to announce the mind-bending Scatter Capture badge line!

The Scatter Capture badge line includes three badges: “Scatter Brained!”, “View Askew!”, and “Helter Skelter!” for capping 5, 50, and 100 Scatter Munzees, respectively.

The Scatter Capture badges will begin awarding TOMORROW (February 9th). These badges ARE retroactive.

NOTE: These badges are only for capping the original Scatter Munzee, not the ScatterED munzees. Keep an eye out for other lines that may be coming very soon. 😉

We hope you enjoy these badges!

Have fun and Munzee on!

Coinz Badges Are Here!

The introduction of Coinz in October of last year and their expansion in January added a whole new level to the Munzee game. This part will continue to grow and with that comes new badges! Starting tomorrow (February 3rd), two lines of badges for Coinz will begin awarding: Coins Discovered and Munzees Visited.

Coins Discovered

The Coins Discovered line of badges will include World 1-1, World 1-2, and World 1-3 for discovering 10, 100, and 500 coins, respectively.

Munzees Visited

The Munzee Visited line of badges will include The Claw, Skee Ball, and Munzee Arcade for visiting 100, 500, and 1000 munzees with a coin, respectively. (Note: These require discoveries made with a single coin and do not compound, e.g. If you have 43 visits with a Longsword coin and 57 visits with a Greenie coin, you DO NOT earn the badge.)

These badges will be found under the Coinz category. The Munzees Visited line WILL NOT show on the badges page until earned. The Coins Discovered line will appear on the badge page with the following null image until earned:

We hope you enjoy these new badges! Keep an eye out for more information about new Coinz coming soon!

Groundhog Day 2017 Special

Every country has it’s own customs and traditions. For the United States and Canada, one of those happens to be letting a groundhog predict our seasons… We’re going to celebrate this with a Munzee special!

Groundhog Day is celebrated on February 2nd. Traditionally, if a groundhog leaves its burrow when it is cloudy, spring will arrive early (before the vernal equinox). If it is a sunny day, the groundhog will see it’s shadow and return to its burrow. This foreshadows six more weeks of winter. While the accuracy of this tradition is often up for debate, it’s fun speculate nonetheless. This year, we’d like to share the fun with everyone!

Beginning tomorrow, January 27th, at 00:01 MHQ time, 2017 Groundhog icons will appear on the map. These will bounce on geenies, Ice Mystery Munzees, and Shamrocks every 6 hours or when capped. These icons will remain on the map until February 2nd at 23:59 MHQ time.

Points
For capturing a Groundhog icon, you will earn 22 points. The owner of the host munzee will earn 6 points.

Badges
There are THREE badges that can be earned during this special. The badge you earn depends on what type of munzee the host is:

  • Greenie: If you capture a Groundhog icon on a greenie, you will earn the Groundhog Day badge.
  • Ice Mystery Munzee: If you capture a Groundhog icon on an Ice Mystery Munzee, you will earn the Winter badge. (Note: Capture of an Ice Mystery Munzee will still send out scatters.)
  • Shamrock: If you capture a Groundhog icon on a Shamrock Munzee, you will earn the Spring badge.

We hope you enjoy this special!

Evolution Munzee Badges

We released the first Evolution Munzees in October. Since then, new sets have entered the game, and we have plenty more planned for the future. With these things in mind, we are ready to introduce Evolution Munzee badges!

There are two lines of Evolution Munzee Badges: capture and deploy.

Capture

The capture line for Evolution Munzees includes three badges: Book Checkout, Book Shelf, and Library Card. These are for capturing all stages of one, five, and ten types of Evolution Munzees, respectively.

The capture badges will show on the badge page with a null image until earned:

Deploy

The deploy line for Evolution Munzees includes three badges as well: Beaker, Safety Equipment, and Microscope. These are for deploying 1, 25, and 50 physical AND/OR virtual Evolution Munzees, respectively.

The deploy badges are hidden badges and will not show until awarded.

These badges ARE retroactive and will begin awarding TOMORROW, January 12th.

We hope you enjoy!

Introducing the Myth Wrangler Badge!

For over a year now our players have travelled the world in search of the mythological munzees, capturing Unicorns, Leprechauns, Dragons and Yetis. While many have captured all four, an even rarer feat will now be awarded: The Myth Wrangler Badge.

This badge is for the best of the best who can capture all 4 Mythological Munzees in one day- based on MHQ time. A collection like this isn’t easy to come by, but we know you will persevere!

This badge IS retroactive and will begin awarding at 00:01 MHQ time TOMORROW (December 22).

We hope you enjoy this new badge!
