🦁 February Gargoyle 🪽

A noble new gargoyle has been mounted on the roof! Hailing from the Netherlands, you can add the NEW Lion-Goyle to your collection by completing your capture streak next month!

If you completed your January capture streak, prepare to receive the Axol-Goyle Skin (and corresponding badge) in early February. Read on to learn more about the latest addition to the Gargoyle family!

January Gargoyle Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a base Gargoyle yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $12.

As a reminder, this is how to have a permanent Gargoyle on your account next year:

• Own at least 8 Gargoyles by the end of the year.
  • Each month, the price of a Gargoyle will decrease by $1.
  • However, players can only purchase 1 Gargoyle every 28 days.

February Gargoyle Details

What Gargoyle awaits in February? The Lion-Goyle, who’s counting on you to help it roar back to life! It is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as the players with permanent Gargoyles continue to use it.

As stated earlier, you’ll need to complete next month’s (February’s) capture streak to earn this skin. Once the skin is awarded in March, you can change the skin on the Gargoyle to this one at any point! If you need some help refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions on swapping skins!

You can find this stately statue at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Remember, instead of scatters, Gargoyles introduce a new dual-ownership mechanic which will benefit both deployers and cappers!

• After 4 captures, the Stone Gargoyle will turn into a Cracking Gargoyle
• After 1 more capture, the Cracking Gargoyle will turn into a Freed Gargoyle, which is owned by both the deployer AND capper! This means both players will earn CapOn points!
  • NOTE: Only the Main Gargoyle Owner will get credit for the deploy. The Temporary Co-Owner will not see a deploy on their side, but instead will see earned CapOn points whenever the co-owned bouncer is captured.
• After 5 captures, the Freed Gargoyle will turn back into a Stone Gargoyle

The point structure for the Cracking Gargoyle and Freed Gargoyle are as follows:

• Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
• Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned Gargoyle!
• Overall deploy badges — the more Gargoyles you deploy, the merrier!
• Overall capture badges — capture as many Gargoyles as you can find!

Deep in the the enchanted groves, a new band of mechz is gathering outside of work hours—the Dads of Sirwood Forest! These Middle-Aged Mechanical Medieval Fathers may crack groan-inducing dad jokes, but don’t be fooled—their courage (and questionable hobbies) make them a force to be reckoned with. Last time, you met Sir Loin — read on to find out about the next merry mech!

The 3rd in this new line of Mechz is Sir Ramic, a dad whose calm and comforting presence is contagious! His Pa-tter’s Wheel is hypnotic, creating an image of a beautiful sunset as it spins. Add this noble knight to your company HERE!

This mech will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture this mech on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same mech visits you. This mech is non-blastable. It will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access this mech by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When Sir Ramic is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Pa-tter’s Wheels on the Mech owner’s account.

These scatters will be visible to any player and expire after 120 minutes. They have a capture radius of 300 feet. Since they are passive deploys, these scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity.

As with other Munzee Mechz, the badge for deploying Sir Ramic depicts the Blueprints, and is shown below:

✨ Earn Streaks to Awaken Gargoyles 🗿

Perched high above the map and watching every move, the Gargoyles are ready to awaken! These stone sentinels are the newest monthly streak bouncers, bringing a magical and fantastical flair to 2026. By maintaining your daily capture streak each month, you will slowly chip away at their stony shells and unlock powerful new Gargoyle skins. Each earned skin marks your dedication and brings these ancient guardians one step closer to freedom.

But this launch holds something entirely new for Munzee. For the first time ever, Gargoyles introduce the concept of dual-owned bouncers! Once freed, a Gargoyle can exist as a single bouncer shared between the original owner and the capper, rewarding both players and creating a brand-new way to collaborate on the map. This exciting new mechanic is debuting with streak bouncers, but it opens the door to future possibilities like clan-based bouncers in Clan Wars or special shared bouncers for Event Hosts.

To unlock this new power, players will need to stay disciplined — your first Gargoyle skin will be earned in February, and once equipped, you will crack open access to the new dual-owned streak bouncers. Stay consistent, keep your streak alive, and read on to learn how to bring these legendary guardians to life!

Gargoyle Details

The Gargoyle is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on January 31st, 2027. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $12, and each month its price will decrease by $1. You can purchase 1 Gargoyle every 28 days. If you own at least 8 temporary Gargoyles at the end of the year, you’ll be able to keep a permanent one going into (and beyond) February 2027! Plus you can continue using all the skins you’ve collected each month!

Like last year, you will have to keep your streak up in January to receive the first skin (the Axol-Goyle shown above) in February. The pattern continues for the remaining months — if you keep up your capture streak for an entire month, you will receive the skin for it the next month. You can change the skin on these at any point (more info below!) as long as you have earned it. We will release full details for the Axol-Goyle on February 1st, but otherwise here are the details below for the base Gargoyle:

Dual-Owned Bouncers – Free the Gargoyle Together!

Gargoyles are introducing a brand-new gameplay mechanic to Munzee: dual-owned bouncers! This exciting feature can only be unlocked when a Gargoyle has one of its special enchanted skins equipped. These magical skins awaken the Gargoyle’s true nature and allow it to be freed from stone… with a little help from the community. Let’s break down how it works using the Axol-Goyle skin as an example.

When the Axol-Goyle skin is equipped, the Gargoyle will begin bouncing around the map in its Stone Axol-Goyle form. Like Dragon Trainer Specials, each capture brings it closer to breaking free. After a certain number of captures, players may start spotting a Cracking Axol-Goyle on the map. This visual change is your cue that something special is about to happen — if you see a cracking gargoyle, grab it!

When a Cracking Axol-Goyle is captured, the Gargoyle is finally freed! At that moment, a Freed Axol-Goyle is deployed on the map. This new bouncer is co-owned by both the original Gargoyle owner and the player who freed it. While the Freed Axol-Goyle bounces around, both co-owners will earn CapOn points, making it a shared victory and a brand-new way to collaborate with other players.

The magic does not stop there. After the Freed Axol-Goyle has been captured a certain number of times, it will return to its stone form to recharge, and the cycle begins anew. The original Axol-Goyle is returned to the map, ready to continue its journey and be freed once again.

Keep your streak alive, earn those enchanted skins, and keep an eye on the map — you never know when a Gargoyle will be ready to break free!

How to Change Skins

The process is the same as it has been for the past few years, so we won’t take up your time with the instructions! However, if you are a little rusty — or if perhaps, you’re a new player(!) — you can refer to our Help Guide article HERE!

If you complete the capture streaks for each month (and make the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete set of these carefully cracked open Gargoyles!
