Get All Mixed Up With The Chimera AlternaMyth

Lions, Dragons and Billy Goats oh my! The final Classical AlternaMyth has launched on to the map and this amalgamation of mythological beings is the leader of the pack! Bow down to the Chimera AlternaMyth Munzee!

As with the other AlternaMyths these Mythological Munzees are deployed on behalf of our HQ staff’s accounts, thus super rare. You’ll get 200 points for capping the Chimera. Owners of the host munzee will also earn double the points of the Chimera’s many-headed cousin, the Hydra.

This may be the AlternaMyth to the Hydra Mythological Munzee, but the Chimera is so much more! This creature is made up of a lion, a goat, a snake and a dragon, with the wing of a Pegasus and the tail of a scorpion for good measure. As such Chimeras are attracted to a wide variety of landing pads.

In celebration of the final Classical AlternaMyth we’ve also released a Chimera decal sticker and a new Chimera Elemental Pack featuring physical Elemental Munzees.

Updated Scanner; Scratch and Dent Stickers

A long time ago in a place far, far away (or about 4 years ago about 3 miles from our current office), a grave mistake was made. In an effort to advance the game, generic munzee stickers were created using a new method. This method failed, however, leaving behind what became known as the Munzee Wallpaper. Thousands of stickers only to be used as decoration and as a reminder of a dark time. Or so we thought…

Ok. That may have been a bit dramatic. A few years ago, we created stickers that, due to technology at the time, were rendered unscannable. However, after a few updates to scanners and advancements in smartphone cameras, they can be used in the field.

This morning, we released an updated version of the app with a new scanner with improved recognition of damaged codes. This means that codes that may have previously been unscannable due to parts damaged or missing should be scannable now. (There are limits to how much reconstruction the scanner can do.) Because of this, we are releasing the “Munzee Wallpaper” stickers as “Scratch and Dent” stickers for purchase in the Freeze Tag Online Store.

These “Scratch and Dent” stickers are available now in packs of 20 stickers for $1.25. While we have thoroughly tested these stickers for scannability, you may have to be a bit more patient while capping and deploying in some cases.

Earth Day Charity Special Update

Howdy!

First off, we would like to thank you for your support of our Earth Day Charity Special. We love seeing players interact and help each other for deployments and captures, and it’s even better when it’s for a good cause.

Earth Day Evolutions will leave the Freeze Tag Online Store on Monday, April 9th at 10:00 MHQ time. This is to ensure that, if deployed immediately, they will be fully evolved by the time they leave the map so you get the most out of them. So if you haven’t purchased any Earth Day Evolutions yet, you still have time! Don’t forget there are badges for capping AND deploying these specials!

MunzPaks are back!

Howdy!

We’ve been working on updates to our MunzPak subscription services, and we’re happy to announce that MunzPaks are once again available RIGHT NOW! We’ve made a couple of changes that we think you will enjoy:

  • There are now 3 MunzPaks to choose from: Physical MunzPak, Hybrid MunzPak, and Virtual MunzPak.
  • MunzPak subscriptions are now handled through the Freeze Tag Online Store.
  • The Physical MunzPak is re-launching with a new line of munzees!

If you subscribe to any (or all) of the MunzPaks, you will be provided a link to an account dashboard where you can manage your subscriptions, see your delivery schedule, view and edit your billing information, and see your purchase history.

You will be billed monthly on your delivery date with one small change. Now, virtual and credit items will be applied to your account immediately after purchase instead of at midnight MHQ time the following day.

One time purchases of MunzPaks will result in being charged the minimum values of each MunzPak:

  • Physical MunzPak: $25
  • Hybrid MunzPak: $30
  • Virtual MunzPak: $40

The Chinese Zodiacs will work similarly to the Western Zodiacs in that they will be worth double points when capped and deployed during specific times. Instead of being worth double points during certain days/months, they will be worth double points during their corresponding days (00:01-23:59 MHQ time).

Introducing the new Temporary Virtual!

UPDATE: As of November 2019 Temporary Virtuals no longer expire 30 days after they are purchased. Now Temp Virts will expire 30 days after they have been deployed. 

We’re excited to announce a new product called the Temporary Virtual! This new virtual item would allow players to deploy in areas that would usually not be beneficial to place a more expensive game piece or to help other players hit goals.

Much like Flat Robs and Flat Matts. these new items will be on a new layer of the map, so you don’t have to worry about trying to deploy in areas that are already overrun with other munzees. This will be especially helpful for deploying at high profile events like Munzee Madness this weekend in Southern California!

These new items are currently for sale in the Munzee Online Store and available on Quick Deploy as of 10:00 MHQ!

Introducing the Fire Pouch Creature Munzee!

UPDATE: Due to player requests we have increased the point values to the three Tuli levels. We have also decreased the amount of time the Tuli will take to bounce from 12 hours to 6 hours. Changes are listed below in red. Thank you all for your input! 

In November we released the final member of the Classical Mythological Munzees, the Cyclops Mythological Munzee. Now we’re proud to announce a new era – the Pouch Creatures. The first Pouch Creature being released is the Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee.

The Pouch Creatures are based on items from one of our sister apps, WallaBee. These creatures, while similar to Mythological Munzees in many respects, have some different qualities. The Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee will bounce on Greenies and Fire Mystery Munzees every 6 hours or when capped. After 25 captures, however, the Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee will begin to level up.

To level up, a daily capture streak must be attained:

  • Level 1: 0-3 Consecutive Days of Capture
  • Level 2: 4-7 Consecutive Days of Capture
  • Level 3: 8+ Consecutive Days of Capture

Your Level 1 pouch creature will need 4 consecutive days of captures for it to evolve to Level 2, this will happen after the first capture on Day 4. Your Level 2 pouch creature will need 8 consecutive days of captures for it to evolve to Level 3, this will happen after the first capture on Day 8.

When the streak is broken, the Fire Pouch Creature will revert to Level 1 and the leveling process begins again.

By leveling up a Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee, the points for the owner, capper, and host owner will increase:

    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points
  • Tulimber (Level 2)

For deploying a Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee, you will earn a deploy badge:

There are also three badges (nine total) for capturing each level of the Tuli Pouch Creature Munzee. Here are the first for each level:

There will be 1800 Tuli Pouch Creature Munzees available for $20 in the Munzee Online Store TOMORROW (Friday, February 23rd) at 10:00 MHQ time. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis, and there is a limit of 1 per account.

That’s not all, though. We will also have a limited number of each of the previous Mythological Munzees available as well. If you’ve missed previous ownership opportunities or are a new player who wants to get in on the Mythological Munzee action, this is your chance! As always, you can only own one of each type of Mythological Munzee.

Announcing Mystery Munzee Capture and Deploy Badges!

The game is afoot! We’re excited to announce new badges for capturing and deploying Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees.

Continuing the Deploy line started with the Watson and Holmes badges, you can now earn two new badges featuring some of Sherlock’s more colorful characters.

We have also released an all new line of badges for capturing Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees. A detective must use all of his tools to his advantage if he hopes to solve the Mystery!

These badges won’t be easy to come by, but they are retroactive, so any of your past mystery solving will count toward these. The badges are now live and available to earn.

In celebration of those masterful mysteries, for a limited time you can purchase 5 Mini Mystery Munzees for $5 (regularly $7.50) in the Munzee Online Store. The sale will run until Sunday at 15:00 MHQ time so don’t tarry too long! Check them out HERE!

Flat Schedule Update and Sale!

At the end of last month, we released the February Flat schedules, and we’ve got a few updates for them!

The Olympics are in full swing right now, and Flat Matt wants to celebrate! Flat Matts will be on the map for the rest of the games, which means that, after being added to the previous scheduled times, they will be active through March 6th at 23:59 MHQ time.

Flat Robs will also be making a surprise appearance and will be active from Monday, February 19th at 00:01 MHQ time through Sunday, February 25th at 23:59 MHQ time.

That’s not all! Today is real Matt’s 26th birthday, so we’re celebrating! From now through Sunday, February 18th at 23:59 MHQ time, Flat Matts will be 26% off in the Munzee Online Store!
