This weekend we want to help you go the distance, even if you can’t go very far! All Virtual Colors now have a 1000 ft ⬆️ capture radius, and all Places Munzees have had their capture radius doubled! Yes, that includes Airports ✈️! However, this radius extension does not apply to any bouncing munzees that land on these munzee types — you’ll still have to make the effort if you want the high value munzees! This will last until noon MHQ on Monday April 20!
We hope extending the capture radiuses helps those of you stuck at home to have a little farther reach for some weekend fun. For those who can adventure a bit more freely this should help you reach even more munzees too!
Don’t forget to join the Global QRantine event this month and to cap hidden Event Munzees as they pop up. You may also earn something special today if you take a look at our social pages…
After the well-received Social DistanZEEing event we hosted last month, we wanted to do more with all the ideas we came up with to keep everyone amused while stuck at home! One of those ideas was a great new event name and theme, so we’ve decided to refresh what we did last month with the NEWGlobal QRantine Munzee Event!
Calendar Page
You can join this Munzee event from anywhere in the world, but be sure to RSVP on the Munzee Calendar by clicking on the green [I’m Going] button. You will need to be signed in to the calendar page to see the button. We awarded free magnets and temporary virtuals to all attendees at various points throughout the Social DistanZEEing event, so it’s very possible that we’ll do something similar for this month-long Global QRantine event! If that’s not incentive, we don’t know what is!
Eventzee Hunt
Since our Couch Potato Party Eventzee hunt was a resounding success, we made sure to create a new FREE Eventzee Photo Scavenger Hunt for this event!
Is staying inside making you go QRaZEE??? Well it’s April, which means it’s time for fools, so join us in another FREE photo scavenger hunt! This hunt will include 20 clues in total, with ten being released each week. Per usual no screenshots will be accepted unless the clues asks for it. Learn more on the Eventzee blog!
Just download the Eventzee app* and use the code “QRAZEE” to access this special hunt.
Event Account
Make sure to follow the Global QRantine event account as well! Remember that this month’s Player of the Month (POTM) badge will require you to capture ALL the munzees deployed by this account.
While the munzees deployed by this account can be located anywhere in the world, we’ve maxed out the capture radius so that anyone should be able to capture them. In most cases, any virtual deploys can be found and captured easily if you put the right filters to use in the app. However, physical deploys are trickier as the code to scan may be hidden in the deploy notes, here on the blog, on our social media accounts — anywhere we have a presence. Sometimes puzzles will require you to put things together before you can scan a code. You will not need to use the replace feature for any munzee during this event, so please don’t! Remember this is supposed to be a fun way to Munzee, this time it is a virtual scavenger hunt!
If you need help figuring out how to capture any of these deploys, why not study our Help Guide or ask a fellow player? This is a great way to learn more about advanced Munzee gameplay, and you might make a new friend in the process!
TIP: You can add the event account to your Friends List in the app to more easily view its deploys!
More to Come?
Follow our blog and social channels to find out what’s next for our Global QRantine event! We know being stuck at home can drive you crazy, but we hope to offer some fun options at home and in the real world depending on your situation. As always play your way, follow the code of conduct, and please use your best judgement when playing any of our games.
We look forward to fighting cabin fever with you all!
Oh and one more thing! Watch the video below to see our global events manager, Louise kick off the event with our first code!
Munzee on!
*We’re aware of issues for some players joining the hunt. We suggest logging out and then logging back in. Delete and reinstall the app. Also check your data setting specific to the Eventzee app. If you are still dealing with issues please reach out tosupport@munzee.comwith your device model and operating system. Thank you for your patience!
We love how active our player community is, especially on social media, which definitely helps to grow the game! This blog, our social media accounts, and in-app messages, are just some of the many ways we communicate updates to our players.
We’re now making it easier than ever to keep up with all of the latest Munzee news right in the app. With this latest update, we hope to bridge the gap between this living app and you!
NEW What’s New? Section
This new section of the app can be found by tapping the Hamburger Menu icon at the top left corner of most of the app’s screens, then by tapping on [What’s New?] between the [Store] and [Notifications] buttons.
Similar to the Filters section, there are 3 tabs at the top that allow you to switch between the following subsections:
News – shows the most recent blog posts in button form, with the newest at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open that blog post in your device’s default browser.
Featured – shows all active Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) AND temporary Player Owned Bouncers (tPOBs) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open a window in your device’s default browser showing all the relevant blog posts.
Schedule – shows all active scheduled munzees (Flat Friends, QRewzees, and RetireMyths) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open the current schedule for that munzee in your device’s default browser.
When there’s new information released you’ll also see a red icon next to “What’s New?” to let you know there’s been some breaking news! We’re still putting out in-app messages, emails, social posts and more, but this section is meant so players can easily access a collective area for all their Munzee news.
Button Migration
To make room for the [What’s New?] button, we moved the old [Offline Mode] button into the [Tools] section, and renamed it [Offline Queue].
We hope you find this NEW app section useful, whether you’re at home reading the latest blog post or out in the wild hunting the current active MOBs!
If you haven’t marked [I’m Going!] on our Social DistanZEEing Global Munzee Event, fix that ASAP! We’ll be awarding goodies periodically, so you don’t want to miss out! Today at 10:00 MHQ, attendees were awarded 1 physical magnet and 1 virtual magnet, which will definitely be useful in attracting the NEWRainbow Trail MOBs or testing out the NEWElemental Magnetization feature!
To make magnets even more useful, we’ve increased their strength so that they can now attract up to 5 bouncers! This boost will be active from 12:00 MHQ today until 23:59 MHQ on March 22nd! That’s the same end time as the 2x Mystery Days bonus, so be sure to take advantage of it!
Lastly, if you are late to our Couch Potato Party, you can read more about it in yesterday’s blog post HERE!
The Munzee Podcast is back for 2018! Rob and Matt say THANK YOU to January’s specials, briefly chat about the latest Munzee update and do their very best to confuse our players about what’s to come next. Enjoy!
2017 was a great year. We tried to encompass our theme of “Everyone. Everywhere.” into all that we did. There were learning experiences along the way, but the community consistently pushed us to provide the best game and experiences we could. For that, we thank you tremendously. Below, we have some “year-in-review” stats and messages from the team followed by more information about our 2018 theme.
Munzee Events from Louise
Wow, what a year 2017 has been for Munzee Events. To everyone everywhere, thank you all for keeping me so busy!
We’ve had some fantastic events this year from the Tea Parties to our 6th Birthday celebrations, the MunzFit Events to the Christmas Parties that are just wrapping up now. 525 events to be precise, most hosted by you, our wonderful players, and some hosted by us at MHQ. We were delighted to welcome so many of you to our new office in McKinney back in September and had our first events with the whole MHQ team.
We have greatly enjoyed coming to your events all over the world too, thank you for inviting us and being such wonderful hosts. Personally, my absolute highlight was celebrating my birthday with over 100 Munzee players at the Australia Day events back in January!
We’ve introduced new exciting merchandise exclusive to events and created Emerald Gardens all over the world. We also hit new record attendance levels with the events in Germany this summer, absolutely brilliant stuff!
I look forward to meeting more of you virtually as I work with you to create your Munzee Events and can’t wait to meet even more of you out and about at your amazing events.
Thank you for your support, Munzee On!
Munzee
There are quite a few things that could be said about 2017. We went through a lot of changes in efforts to do what we thought was best for the game and company. The community was always at the forefront when we made decisions, and “Everyone. Everywhere.” wasn’t just a theme but a way of thinking. Check out some of the stats from this year:
As we mentioned in the podcast, our theme for 2018 is “The Time is Now.” Over the years, there has been projects and ideas that we haven’t had the time or resources to implement. With the staff and resources we have after merging with Freeze Tag, we can finally put these ideas into action. These range from gameplay changes to a new app and work on them will begin immediately. While you may not see them immediately, be sure that we are working to make the game and app better than ever.
Once again, thank you for everything you have done to help grow the game and support other member’s of the community.
The Munzee Podcast is back for its final show of the year! Rob and Matt recap 2017’s hits and misses, hint at what’s to come and invite a couple special guests to give some updates regarding our other games.
The Munzee Podcast is back after a very busy September! Rob and Matt recap MHQ Bash, reveal a fiendish Friday the 13th fellow, and warm up for the Tour De Cure charity race. Stay tuned for a reveal about what’s coming up for the rest of October!
The Munzee Podcast is back again- and it didn’t take us another year either! This month Matt and Rob recap their trips during Birthday month, Louise gives us the rundown on Birthday Events from Jolly Old England, and we go over some of the new items that have been released. Enjoy and Munzee on!
We’re proud to announce the release of a limited number of 6th Birthday Comic Book Special coinz! These golden brass coins look awesome and are a great keepsake from a SUPER month. Those in attendance of our MHQ Birthday Bash will be the first to to have the chance to buy them, so be sure to RSVP.

Along with the Birthday coinz we are also releasing a Recycle coin and a ZeeOps coin. Remember you can use coinz to track specific munzee captures which is perfect when hunting recycles or completing ZeeOps missions. The Recycle coin features the Munzee Recycle icon and the ZeeOps coin features the ZeeOps logo inlaid upon a super unique white metal. Both are great additions to any coin collection!
