🎅 Christmazee designed by geomatrix in Glencoe, MN, US
This beautiful snowglobe features clever usage of a variety of munzee types, such as a Christmas tree made from Night Vision goggles — the dark green color still reads “tree”, but the black goggles give it some dimension — plus, the little red light on the right side of each looks like tiny round ornaments! We also love the Flat Cats, Surprises, and Master of Disguises as the presents under the tree!

🔔 Festive Holly, Berries, and Bells designed by loeschfamily in Apple Valley, MN, US
To outline, or not to outline — that is the question. There’s no denying that a black outline really helps your garden pop on the map — as this one did when it caught our eye! Perhaps the secret is that black outlines look best on gardens with darker jewel-tone colors, like the Virtual Greens and Virtual Reds used here, so that they don’t clash.

Perhaps one of the most well-known man-made wonders in the world — it needs no further introduction! It has a very sleek and simple design, but Dad35 used Gray, Silver, and White Virtuals to illustrate the details and keep the design from being too one-note!

🏞️ Rocky Mountain National Park designed by Cruiser5 in Larimer, CO, US
This garden is deployed very close to the wonder it’s depicting — located in Estes, CO, it boasts stunning nature-made views! Cruiser5 perfectly captured the mountain range in multiple shades of Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow, and White Virtuals, with some Jellyfish, Peas, and Eggs Evos to get even more color variation!

🎃 Jack-o’-lantern Garden designed by Sevans and LiamCEvans in Broomfield, CO, US
Did you know this garden was designed by a father and son team? In addition, the impressive size of this garden was YEARS in the making at OVER 1,000 pins! We had featured it before in 2019, but as it wasn’t complete at the time, it could not win GOTM. We’re happy to see that the garden continued to grow and reap its reward today! While larger gardens understandably take a longer time to fill, we hope that doesn’t discourage those of you who enjoy designing them — more pins means the potential for more detail!

🪦 At night in the cemetery… designed by microx in Dresden, Saxony, DE
This design definitely stood out — or should we say, rose out (from the grave)! The wooden cross appears 3D thanks to the use of Virtual Browns strategically placed along the sides of the main Clan Weapon face. We also love the detail of the Naudiz Norse Zodiacs, with their deeper gray color, as the nails of the undead hand! Lastly, the freshly turned soil is made much more interesting with a HUGE assortment of munzee types — definitely a treasure trove unearthed for the players who are lucky enough to visit!

Gardens that have an assortment of munzee types are always fun, and can be a helpful teaching tool for new players — they can see how each type behaves upon capture. This garden is a good size for players to hand-cap — and it’s such a fun detail that the rows of Pumpkins and Spaghetti that the scarecrow is guarding is part of its own body!

In contrast, we also love gardens that make use of just one type of munzee — of course, Virtual Colors tend to be a popular choice due to the range of colors available. We love how this ear of corn makes use of multiple yellow and green shades to give the garden more dimension and make it more interesting to look at!

This dynamic garden design definitely caught our eye with its bright blue coloring. We love the attention to detail as Catapults were used to create the wood texture of the hockey stick, and Surprises were used to show the blades of the ice hockey skates. Could the Sir Prize Wheel be standing in for the puck? You’ll have to ask CapJaxCrew!

🥇 1956 Melbourne Olympics Gold designed by skyfox in Melbourne, VIC, AU
A simple garden design is elevated by unique pin choices! Instead of using one of the purple Virtual Colors, Flat Cats were used for the ribbon. Similarly, instead of using green Virtual Colors, the Virtual Geologgers Reseller munzees were used, which is very fitting as they were our Authorized Reseller based in Australia.

September’s theme will focus on popular fall foods! Think pumpkin spice-flavored everything, delicious baked goods or for the adventurous — a local dish you’d like to introduce us to! We’re sure you’ll make our mouths water!

👻 October 2025 GOTM Theme – “Haunted Haunts“

October’s theme will focus on the classically spooky! Think ghosts, skeletons, pumpkins, and horror icons! We dare to be scared — but make sure your designs are still family-friendly for the younger players!

🌐 November 2025 GOTM Theme – “World of Wonders“

November’s theme will focus on everything Around ZEE World! Think famous landmarks, different cultures, or global travel! Munzee is a worldwide adventure after all, so we’d love to see more gardens showing that off!

🎄 December 2025 GOTM Theme – “Festive Foliage“

December’s theme will focus on all that is merry and bright! Think holiday trees, ornaments, gifts, and other symbols of seasonal celebrations! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so we can’t wait to see how you light up the map!

The month-long competition has been like the world’s longest birthday song… and as we head into the final week, it’s about time for some cake! For July, the theme was “Birthday Bash” — looking at all of the cheerful and colorful designs you’ve created to celebrate our birthday was truly a gift!

We love this sweet and simple garden honoring our new mascot, introduced just last year with the launch of the Daily Stroll. jesperdagelet has done a great job translating his image into garden form, using 6 shades of white, gray, black, and blue for his face, 5 shades of green for his mane, and 5 shades of yellow, orange, and brown for his horn — with the Virtual Garden Places pin at the very tip!

This festive-looking cupcake is eye-catching due to the fun sprinkle colors chosen by CapJaxCrew! If you look closer, other fun details emerge, such as the sparkler candle made out of Jellyfish Evolutions, and the pleats of the cupcake wrapper made from Crossbows! It’s making us want to raid the pantry and whip up a batch of our very own colorful treats!
